I have the apc indiglos and they cut on when I hit the lights but then they go dim as if there's a short. I didn't install them so I'm pretty much lost.

Uninstall them, then your problem will go away.

if they are going dim, it's because you more than likely have a poor ground.
But I agree...uninstall them.

do you have anything else connected with your lights ?? if so you need to put a 12v boost relay on it because you are draining to much current.... if you need a diagram here you go.... 86 is ground 87 is 12v 85 is in (from the p.light) and 30 is out ( to the gauges or whatever you ahve hooked up to the lights)
