Default Idle Problems - '91 CRX w/B16

car: 91 crx Si w/ b16a1 swap..

Problems: when i first start the car it takes a few seconds to start up and when it does it starts a really low rpm like 500 unless i give it a little gas..

2nd problem: once the car has started and i drive for a couple minutes and i go to a stop light the car will stay at a grand for a little then will drop down to 500 and then 300 and start to act like its going to cut off and then i give it a little gas and it goes to a grand and then does the same thing...

beat me to it. If your hood is unpainted, you should have a diagram (even though its for the d16) and just make sure all vacuum lines are run correctly. 90% of the time, its you have a tube not hooked up or in the wrong spot.

Vaccum leaks generally increase the idle though so I am leaning towards the idle screw...

Definitely check idle, and all your vaccuum lines and report back. I'm also going to change your thread title, as it's not quite "work-friendly".

Could also be timing. Would have to here it also. Have you had a valve adjustment done recently?
