IACV...

My 92 civic (stockd16) is surging from 1k - 2.5k rpms at idle. Cooling is not the issue so I figure its the IACV. I have not replaced one nor do i know where this is. Is it attatched to the firewall? How much do these parts typically cost? Any help would be appreciated, i know it is not too big a deal, but it needs to get fixed...

they are like 130 bucks brand new at honda. it is on the back of your intake manifold with several coolant lines and a plug going to it. 3 10mm bolts hold it on.

Well, on my D15 in my 95 civic there are only 2 lines going to it, and 2 bolts holding it on, I think it would be the same for the d16, the bolts are diaganol from each other. Try cleaning it out, as soon as u take it off u should know just by looking at it if it's dirty or not, but u shouldn't need to replace it.
