If the back of each strut is a V channel, it should be easy to bond some reinforcing material into the back of the channel and around the edge under the bumper. Think a shape like an L or T. This could be a piece of flat stock or some heavy twisted wire, depending on the size of the channel.
That should be plenty strong for the loads involved, and would hide itself nicely. Then the bulk of the work would be to bond and fill the outside of the strut pieces for cosmetic finishing.
