I dont know too much about the first generation small block chevy's. However I recently acquired a car with one in it and I was told it was making some pretty unlikely numbers. Here is what I know about the car:
-Block is supposedly out of a 68 but if it matches the heads it would be a 70-80
-#33382 cylinder heads (1.94 Intake, 1.5 exhaust, 76cc)
-1.6 Roller Tip Rockers
-Edelbrock high rise intake manifold
-Holley 600 carb
-MSD 6AL, MSD Distributor cap, and MSD 8.8mm wires
-Electric Fan
-Champion 2-core Radiator
-Looks like a 3.5-4" exhaust
-High-Flow Cat
-Baffled-style muffler
-Mid-length headers
Here soon I will do some underdrive pulleys and then once I get the money, cam and valvetrain.
How much horsepower would you guys estimate im making now?
Any recommendations for TIMING??

Dude why guess? Before you spend money on more crap, do a dyno session with A/F, and find out where you really stand...

Any recommendations for timing, small mods, etc. to squeeze some more?

I wouldn't want to pay for a dyno session until I have done substantial upgrades. I'm just curious to know if anyone has seen the numbers from similar combinations.

You need cam and piston specs. Otherwise 250-400hp but I'm sure your low in compression so I'm gonna say the lower end of my guess.

Well see thats where I wouldnt know. I know the motor has been rebuilt recently but I cant be absolutely positive if they went down as far as the pistons/rings. I do know that those heads seem to be pretty popular even though they have big combustion chambers which leads to lower compression.
