Re: How many lbs of boost should i run
After staring at your post for long enough, then your name, I finally figured out on my own that you own a 1g DSM.
I have no idea, and a DSM guy may happen to come in here and check, but you should have put your car in the title of the thread. :) |
Re: How many lbs of boost should i run
If you are wondering PSI, to give a better awnser, somone would need to know the turbo size....or if its stock turbo w/e. otherwise you will more than liekly get a HP # for the limit.. considering psi raelly doesnt mean much, its more about how many CFM and HP you can run in it safe.

Re: How many lbs of boost should i run
its a greedy t-25
|
Re: How many lbs of boost should i run
T U N I N G.
That's what will determine the amount of boost you can safely run. |
Re: How many lbs of boost should i run
I'm just gonna LOL @ "greedy" and let it go at that.

Re: How many lbs of boost should i run
Who ever tunes the car will tell you how much it will handle
|
Re: How many lbs of boost should i run
You got other shit to worry about before melting those pistons. Please post more info
|
Re: How many lbs of boost should i run
50psi should do, make sure u test it in heavy traffic too

Re: How many lbs of boost should i run

Re: How many lbs of boost should i run
put the wg reference line n do a pull in 3rd or 4th. that will allow you to know what the car can handle n where to set it.
|
Re: How many lbs of boost should i run
10-15 to get you start. n-e-thing more then that might cause you problems
|
Re: How many lbs of boost should i run
20psi!!!!!!!
|
Re: How many lbs of boost should i run
8psi
|
Re: How many lbs of boost should i run
no matter what boost you run...its just a matter of time on stock.
|
Re: How many lbs of boost should i run
What the hell car is it? Only N/T DSMs are 9:1 stock.
The ammount of boost you can safely run is a facter of many things: Fuel volume available Fuel pump strength (can it push the pressure required for the boost) Tuning capability to safely tune for the boost Strength of the pistons/rods and much much more If you think boost doesn't mean anything then I hope you're not tuning anything. Boost creates cylinder pressure which is a direct load on the motor. CFM/airflow is NOT load. CFM makes power not load. |

Worthless thread! Not enough information is being provided by the OP to provide an intelligent response...

Re: How many lbs of boost should i run
a little more help. Search - sites> dsmtuners.com dsmtalk.com
running 6bolt 1gen, stock fp, 450cc and the 14b 13psi? i think some had the 13b? don't think it would be different but i think i've seen it running the same. 13psi. only from what i've read. no quite knowledge like highpsi (from what i hear "guru") so might give him more info for him to use. |

Re: How many lbs of boost should i run
i wanna put a thicker head gasket on it and run 15psi..........i have a 255 fuel pump and 450 injectors.........front mount, hks bov,BC, performance fuel pressure regulator, but im just no tryin to tare it up soon as i get out there!!!!!!!!just need a lil help........
|
Re: How many lbs of boost should i run
You should be able to run 15psi as it sits now, but the question is have you had any tuning done to the car as of yet? If not you may want to wait and have some ignition tuning done first so that your engine doesn't go boom.
