Honest to gods opinion. H23/h22

Well, I have quite a few setups going through my head. I'm looking for atleast 220whp all motor. Honestly, I don't think it's to hard to achieve. I've seen many people do it with LS/VTEC's. My question is, what is your opinion on the H23 bottom end and H22 vtec head? What precautions should I take as well as what piston/rod combo would be best? Would I have to blue print/balance the rotating assembly just like a LS/VTEC? If anyone has any links that they can provide me with good information, I'd appreciate it!

220 all motor is alot in a honda. You're not gonna acheive that with just some block/head combo. Go k series if you're looking for easy power. The best way would be a built b series motor...with the RIGHT bolt ons and a tune, you could get near 220.

Can you help point me in the right direction? I heard you could use stock mounts on these from a 99? si? what about shift linkages?

An H22A swap would be less than half the price of a K20 swap. An H engine will get you in the 200WHP range with ease. Then again, maybe you like spending a lot of money for a couple more horespower.

There was a guy on honda-tech that put together an F23 block and an H22 head, made ~200 whp and a decent amt of torque with nothing but a header/exhaust/intake/tune..

definitely doable..

1) it would make a h22 with .1 more liters and lower comp (if you used a stock h23 bottom end & stock h22 hg)

2a) don't take it apart unless you have some major cash. since honda decided to put the "fiber-composit" sleeves in those blocks. it costs a lot to get the cylinders bored correctly. 2b) stock h22a (jdm) pistons/stock rods w/ 1 layer hg.

3) no, you will not have to unless you plan on taking the motor past 7.5k rpm

220 whp it is very do-able. but that much power in a honda using a h22/3 block will be a little hard to handle <- namely cause of the very broad tq curve of a h22/3 compared to a b or d with the same power (boosted or NA).
