buy a B series. seriously. D tranny's are a fucking joke. the best thing i guess for starters is to get a d16y8 shift fork. it's steel, the d16z6 tranny shift forks are cast aluminum. that and an overall rebuild i guess...then you wont have to worry about the 2nd/3rd shifts grinding for....oh maybe 2 months.

yeah i here ya. i am so over screwing around w/ my z6 just because of the damn tranny though. im on my second, 1st one went to shit. i have 5 friends w/ D's and EVERY one of them has grinding going into 2nd or third and a couple of them have problems popping outta gear. im about the only one who doesnt have any problems because i just put in a tranny from a y8 w/ very low miles....b16 would be a good choice though...
