Will it be all motor? or are you looking for the highest compression ratio you can run with boost?

Sorry i didn't go in to detail. i'm going NA, running a GSR sleeved to 84mm bore with CP pistons... i was asking this question because i was on a b series compression calculator (http://www.zealautowerks.com/bseries.html) and calculated my compression at 12:8.1..in my opinion that pretty much track only with race gas... so just wanted to see whats the highest compression NA cars some of u guys are running on pump gas.

Thanks

If it's a street car... why the fuck do you need over 12:1?

Keep it simple and it works. My 230whp NA B is nothing more than your standard B20 block with a set of 12:1 arias pistons in it. Head was merely cleaned up, 0.05" at most was removed.

yes, thats what i was going for 12.1:1 and a sick shue tune.. but there was some confusion with my machinist and he mill my head and decked my block a little more then i wanted..so i ended up with 12.8:1

I'm sure you'll be fine. I had some pistons in a NA LS motor a couple years back that were domed so high up, they ended up being 13:1 pistons. Motor ping'd some on hot summer days. It made 190 137. Crower 404'd (degree'd) hi compression B18b1(nonvtec) with a RMF header.

The motor is merely a pump, all the power is in the head. So get the head right, get a correct set of cams and a nice header.

My setup picked up 15whp PEAK over a JDM ITR header to a DTR/Six-Sigma Racing header. Midrange came up crucially too.

If it's a street car, I HIGHLY recommend Skunk2 Tuner 2s. I made 230 on them, need more cam though , and it idles perfectly.. and my ac blows cold

12:8 can be done with the proper tune. And maybe a way to retard the ignition a degree or two on hella hot days. Pre-det kills...
