Default Help help

Im installing guages on a 95 Civic Coupe MT. I ve taken the dash off, and the plastic covering. The problem is, i cant take the needles off... They wont budge. And if i rip em out will they still work? Someone help, or show me a link to a guide... thanks a bundle
