ok ,well i have a crx and it leaks alot of coolant out from like the bottom floor panel on passanger side behind the engine bay ..well any ways i was wondering is there any way i can just get it fixed buy some place instead of replacing it ? cuz i was told it will be a real bitch cuz i will have to take out the whole dash

Unless it's something simple like the hose has a crack or the connectors on the firewall that link the heater core to the engine aren't tightened down all the way you're going to have to replace the core.

I don't know how it is on a CRX, but for my car at least taking out the dash isn't that big of a deal.

damn ,i was hoping i could just take it sumwhere to fix it , but i guess i have to replace it ..yeah taking out the dash isnt too big of a deal but it is way more than i want to do cuz i will have to do it twice once at the junkyard and then with my car ..also how much do u think they would be from a junkyard?? or new ?? thanks for ur help

Depends on the car really. They range in price new from $20 to $100+

Call up an auto parts store and ask.

The heater core costs a tad bit more than $100 brand new, especially if you're going with OEM... Best bet is to hit the junkyard.

Two Chiefs in Suffolk has a few CRXs that probably still have the heater core in them.
