having serious isssues with my car
ok so heres my problem, i was driven down to nc and my battery light came on, so i thought crap, but heres the thing i was in edenton nc and made it to jacksoncville nc. thats like 120 miles and not to mention i made it to richsland and back with is like 40 miles i left my car sitting for two weeks i went to start it and it started i let it run for five minutes and turned it off saying hell yeah but then i tried to re start it three minutes later and it did not start it sounded weak like the battery had finally went along with my alt. so i replaced the battery and alt. and now it still wont start it sounds like it wants to but wont. i have had the starter tested and its good. im really stumpped here. i mean starter fluid dont even work. weve changed all the plugs it has oil theres a half a tank of gas still left in it. so with the contious messing with it it wont even "try to turn over" it just does nothing.
if someone can please help me so i can get out of this stupid state to come back home let me kno.. pleasssssssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Re: having serious isssues with my car
It almost sounds like there is a major short somewhere that is draining the battery and preventing it from starting properly.
There could be a problem with one of the main grounds, such as a loose terminal or corrosion where the ground meets the chassis or block, etc..
If you have access to a mutimeter, you should check the battery voltage just sitting there, as well as during starting. That can tell you a lot about what is going on. Then you can figure out if the problem is a short (which would drain the battery really fast) or a corrosion problem (there would be a big voltage difference between the starter and battery for example) or an alternator problem (battery not getting charged).
This is a hard thing to narrow down without a lot more information..

Well id say to check if your alternator bolt is still bolted up and to c if you alternator isn't just flopn around in there with the belt all lose!
It happened to my friends DA. we were driving and somehow the alternator bolt came out we heard the bolt fall but didnt know if it was the car. Then the battery light came on and we pulled over and their it was! i laughed my ass off! Never seen of heard of this happening to anyone! it was just sitn their like i just placed it there and didnt use any bolt wat so ever!
Anyways yea umm wat car do you have? It seems like your having the same problem i had.
Is the clutch safety switch ok? Clutch safety switch is wat makes your car turn on when you step on the clutch to start the car!
and if thats not the case get a test light (fuse) get the ground prong and hook it to the starter bolt with has power and use the needle part to tap on a ground somewhere. make sure your car isnt in gear when you do this and you have to have your keys on like you would be starting it.
if you need a example picture lmk. I had to do this for 3 months and it was retarted starting the car from the engine bay but hey watever i got to where i needed to go.

Also did you check you distributor? you may have to replace the rotor button. that thing that spins under the dizzy cap.
lmk
Id also check the connections on the replacing of the battery the ground and check the connections around your starter.
