Harmonic balancer pulley bolt
I've got a 92 Integra LS. Trying to replace the timing belt and water pump. I've done this job many times in a shop where I had access to a compressor and my impact, but I've never done it in my driveway with only hand tools. And suggestions on what to do? I don't have the special tool either. Thanks in advance.

Re: Harmonic balancer pulley bolt
I hoping you'd chime in, Fabrik. I had a buddy that used to work at the shop with me come over, he brought a chain-type strap wrench... it held the pulley, but I broke and extension using it. The car isn't high enough off the ground the get any leverage from under the vehicle so I have to use two or three 1/2" extensions to get outside of the wheel well...

I've never done a Honda without an impact before. Is there enough room to use a big breaker bar from the top? I just used an 18" long 1/2" drive breaker on my WRX about two weeks ago, worked no problem.

Re: Harmonic balancer pulley bolt
I jacked up the car as high as it would go (about 1.5-2 feet) and was able to hold the pulley still by placing the chain strap wrench on the radiator support and sitting in front of the car, using my 18" long 1/2" drive breaker bar and using my legs to break the bolt loose. After that it was pretty much smooth sailing. Timing belt, water pump and new tensioner done.
