Exclamation gas smell

alright so I need some help here. My car smells like gas inside of the car and even worse i nthe trunk. I had them check my car and they said it was my gas cap so I got a new one. The next day I filled my car up all the way with gas, and like I said earlier it smells like nothing but gas. If y'all can please help me out with this it would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of car? Does it only smell when the car is on or all the time? Any notice in recent gas mileage changes?

well first off i can tell you, thats not good.

lol, like turbo9mm said check your fuel lines very carefully you could have a small leak and not know it. look all around your gas tank and fuel filter also. you might want to have the car running also so that the gas is flowing so you can see the leak if its in the lines or something.

Hey, ya sounds like a leak in one of your lines, see if you can get a fuel pressure reading. Shouldn't be too hard to fix, I mean there is only so much to check for. the reason it's smelling like gas even more in the trunk is bescause it's not well ventilated, so it doesn't really help define the problem. Unless you saw like a puddle in your trunk, lol. Do some diagnosing and get back to us, i'm sure it can be fixed in no time.

Could also be a fuel pump seal, they do go bad and usually if your car is a honda its accessable from the passenger compartment so I would think it would create a gas leak. A leaky fuel line could be the culprit but it would have to be leaking right at the fuel pump.

I HAVE RAN INTO THIS PROBLEM BEFORE
more than likely the person (or you) that owned it before you had a system in it. well when they put the box in they drilled a hole in the gas tank. so pull up your carpet in the trunk and look. i can almost garan damn tee that is what it is.

Thats good, I think we all knew what car it was (by your name), or assumed anyway. But have you done any checking, cuz driving around like that is really not a good idea, for one it's incredibly bad for your health, and another it's unsafe in many ways.
