Default fuel pump fuse relay hot wired... got some questions.

so i was going to change my fuel filter yesterday, and i found out that the fuse for my fuel pump is ghetto rigged. somebody ran a piece of wire from the constant blade receiver to the switch high power blade receiver. when i opened the fuse box the wire fell off, so i bought a new fuse relay and my car wouldn't start. i did the whole wire thing at it worked, and i'm contemplating soldering it on. what happened to the internal wiring to make this happen? where exactly do the constant wires go?

Understand how the circuit works and why its not working correctly...especially on your fuel pump. There are safety provisions to shut that pump off during a crash-so you are not spraying fuel all over after a major collision. It sounds like you are simply not getting power to the switched side of the relay and sounds like and easy fix to do it correctly. Post year, make and model and I will get you a snapshot of the wiring diagram so you can fix it right.

91 nissan sentra. i understand the purpose and function of the relay itself, my main question is where the individual wires go. the constant wires go to the battery and a ground correct?

You have a simple fuel pump relay....see on right. Your relay with have the basic wiring diagram printed on it. Take the number off your relay and good the number followed by "diagram" and maybe search under images....you will find a good diagram for your specific relay so you know which terminals are constant, chassis ground and switched signals.

Similar to this (but run your exact relay part number):
