Fuel pump battle: independent flow testing
Found a really good write up. Real street performance had Bosch, aeromotive, walbro and denso pumps tested at Kinsler. http://realstreetperformance.com/sto...on-test-5.html

Re: Fuel pump battle: independent flow testing
The reason I thought it was interesting is because everyone thinks Denso's are soooooo much better but they actually flow worse than Walbro's at high fuel pressure.

All of those pumps are great, it just depends on what you need and how it will work for you. For example a walbro pump isnt going to work for the guy making 900hp but its perfect for the guy thats at 250hp.

Nothing surprising in the test really. I've said for a long time that the Bosch 044 is a much better pump than the Walbro, but at a higher price. Much higher quality too. Flow ratings aside, the Walbro is just not a good quality part, and I'd much rather use the Denso or Bosch.

I love the performance of the bosch unit, i wonder how hard it will be to switch my in-tank 255 walbro pump to a in-line bosch?

Re: Fuel pump battle: independent flow testing
I'm running a rewired Walbro 255 I'm pretty sure its all I need for anything this car is going to be putting out. Now my next build I'll be going with the Aeromotive 340.....

Re: Fuel pump battle: independent flow testing
Pegasus carries a sock adapter and sock filter for the 044 to use it as an in-tank by the way, if that helps any.
