fresh built b18c1 no oil pressure
I installed my b18c1 in by integra this past weekend, before actually firing the motor up i pulled the fuel pump fuse to prime system and to check for oil pressure. I installed a manual gauge in oil pressure test port, guage showed no pressure while cranking. I have pulled the 10mm hex plug out of the side of the oil pump to check for oil flow, oil came out of port. I also pulled the oil filter off to check for oil going to filter, filter is getting oil. I do not know what else to check please help thanks ina dvance

Yea bro I was sketch with my LS/VTEC build but it took forever to actually read pressure just from cranking.. If its getting oil to the filter, head, and oil pump check valve then its more than likely fine.. Like I said my motor done the same thing, oil to the filter ect and first start up it read 80-90psi once started.. Your more than likely golden bro just double check everything..

and its nots getting oil past the filter, i disconnected my oil feed line going to my turbo to see if oil was coming out as i was cranking, and nothing came out. Also i pulled the valve cover off to see if oil was coming into the head, and saw no oil coming to the head

10 seconds is not enough. I would crank the car for 15-30 seconds stop then again two to four more times at 15-30 seconds for the gauge to reach 10 pounds. I would not crank constantly until you see oil pressure because it may hurt the starter.

Just wondering, who built the motor and did they prime your oil pump before install. I know the oil pressure will be low, when priming with the starter. Like wright said you will definitely have to turn it over longer than 10 seconds. That's probably long enough to get the oil to the filter, with the speed the starter turns the motor over. With the oil making it to the filter, sounds like you should be fine. Good luck and keep us posted.

I built the motor with a tech from my work and we primed it with assembly grease kind of like vaseline. Will just cranking it prime the system and build pressure if the pump was not primed enough before installation?
