Default Ford/Mazda Techs

I know the 1.8L DOHC motor comes in the Ford Escort GT. I think there is a Mazda 323 that has the turbo version? Does anyone know about the mounts and over-all compatibility with these? I'd like to get the 323 Turbo motor and throw it into a friend's stocky Escort LX. Thanks for any help in advance.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you are talking about the Mazda 323 GTX. It was 1.6L 16V turbo all wheel drive. Never heard of a 1.8L turbo 323, I may be wrong though.

Another thing, the Ford Ranger (1994) has a motor that matches to the turbo set-up of a 323. The only thing is.. the truck is RWD, 323 is FWD?

Rangers all are NA and have been since they were first made in 82.

Available motors have been
2.3 all years
2.8 old
2.9 old
3.0 early 90's
