Fog lights on my G6?

Hey all, wanted to try and put some fog lights on my g6. 2007 2.4L. Anyone heard of this or seen anything like it? How hard would it be?

fog lights are physically impossible to put on that model G6. you can put them on a 2006 and a 2008 but not the 2007. Sorry man.

Try Google. The first 200 hits or so should help you

You should look at this thread with a complete write up and lots of pictures, handily found by Google-ing "g6 fog lights". Fucking amazing.

Re: Fog lights on my G6?

By the way, the latching relay that the guy uses is called an impulse relay, and good luck finding one in this country. It's a type of latching relay with a single coil, where one pulse will set the relay coil and another pulse will reset the relay coil. So it's basically a relay that toggles using a single control input. That's the easiest thing to do with a momentary fog light switch (like the OEM switch) without any power control logic, but is unfortunately a bitch to find in this country for some reason. Other types of latching relays will not work, as they either have two coils (a set coil and a reset coil) or they require polarity to be reversed if they have a single coil.

I'm trying to think of another easy way (there are lots of ways, but none of them are quick or easy) to wire that with the OEM momentary switch, but I can't think of any.

Oh, I think I have a solution. You should be able to use a DEI 611T latching relay and use that to control a standard relay. The 611T is a control relay and will need the other relay to supply the higher current for the lights. Actually, you can remove the first relay that's in the G6forum writeup, and put it after the 611T. So all you need is the 611T and one relay.. The BCM parking light output can go on one side of the relay coil, and the 611T can supply the high side of the relay coil. Then the relay would switch power to the foglights directly from the battery. Don't forget the fuse between the battery and the relay...

Bam! I've just made that shit work better and simplified it as well. It's super easy now.

Even better, someone had the same idea for a different purpose and made a schematic that looks pretty identical and has the correct DIP switch settings:
http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/a...witch_611t.pdf

You'll be running the green wire directly to the fog light switch, just like on the G6forum writeup. You obviously won't have whatever connector is in that schematic for a Frontier. Put the 611T under the dash and put the relay and fuse under the hood.

Now go wire up some fog lights. See, all it took was an automotive engineer and a few minutes of thinking.
