Default Fixing wheels?

So I got my tires dismounted today (thanks to ls/vtecstitch I have some steelies to roll on). My ugly wheels have ALOT of curbage, and I'm trying to figure out how to go about fixing it. I'd rather fill in the gouges, then sand them down (for the sake of the wheels integrity), as opposed to just sanding it down.

Any suggestions? After that, I'm going to prime and paint them.
