Default A/F Gauge wire question

I bought an a/f gauge and it came as is, no box or anything. i dont know what color wires go where. i think its purple, red and black. I assumed black was ground, red was power and purple was signal from o2 sensor. So i connected it all and it doesnt work. Any help would be appreciated.

is it just staying in rich all the time?........or is it not working at all, if its staying green all the time then you prolly have it hooked to the wrong signal wire........if its not working at all and you know you have a good ground and power and signal, then i would say you just got shafted........

i'd look at a wire diagram to see which pin on your ECU is the o2 signal. on the StarQuest boards, they also advised hooking the ground to the same ground the ecu is on. you could always try that.
