Default Euro Spec

im stationed in Germany right now and have the oppurtunity to buy a sweet SiR CRX over here. Is it worth buying it considering im heading stateside in acouple years and want a CRX to build up and take back w/ me. What am i looking at paying/doing to make it legal back in the states(is it even worth it?) or will i be good to go. A few guys over here have said its mostly to do w/ the windows/windshield but i have no idea.

meh . If your in the Motherland >> get a car the land is famous for . Look at a G60 RalleyGolf , G40 Polo , or even a Synchro VR6 Highline Golf . You would definately be the envy of about 15000 USA living VW people who can't own one .

Rallye golfs are about played out in the USA I think there are about 7-10 that have been imported. Way over done. I think they can be bought for about 5000-8000 Britsh pounds in very good condition. If you want to more euro then anybody in the USA get a heavy MK4 golf with a 1.3L motor and do all sorts of body mods and then install heavy 18" or 19" wheels.

i think the point is you can get a b16 rex stateside for about 1/10th the cost of getting a b16 rex in germany, importing it, registering, etc. and germans aren't like the japanese... a 15 year old car there is gonna have 150,000 miles, not 35,000 like in japan. the only reason to import one to the states is for shows and stuff. otherwise, you can fix up a USDM to be just like your EDM version for much less money.

however, what you can't get stateside for super cheap is a sweet euro spec VW or BMW or whatever. so buy a badass golf there, drive it for a couple years, sell it when you leave, then buy a crx when you get back here.
