Something is wrong with your chip, or it's not the right chip for your ECU, or you did the ECU mods wrong (or not completely), or the chip is in backwards. Are you getting a solid check engine light and is your car running stinky rich?

Like 3 years ago i tried to solder one of those $35 "Skunk 2" chips in my 95 Ls, I plugged it back in and it was only reving to 3500 rpms like it was hitting the rev limiter. I took it to a computer repair place and he Desoldered it and did it all over and it worked fine.. I reved a Ls to 7600-8000 rpms for over a year with A zex dry kit and that chip.

I would suggest taking it to a skilled solder...'er ?

limp mode yes.

1.pull the j1 jumper--still bad?
2.pull the chip --- still bad?
3.check ALL solder. use a magnifying glass. bad solder?
