Down Pipe and test pipe.

Down Pipe and test pipe.
Make- Mazda
Model- Speed 3
Engine and mods- mostly stock except for a k and n sri, and UR cat back.
I want to add a down pipe and test pipe to my exhaust, but keep hearing mixed reveiws on supporting mods to go with because of the added gains from removing the restrictions. My speed is titles and registered on oklahoma so I'm not worried about state inspections while I'm here. If anyone has done either or on there speed or has any knowledge, your feedback would be appreciated.

Sure, you can do the things you want, but you're on your own when it comes to inspections, etc. No, its not legal if that's all you wanted to know.

Re: Down Pipe and test pipe.
You are more than welcome to put a test pipe on, but one can face fines if caught without the proper emissions equipment. Now the chances of getting caught are slim because you have the car registered in another state. Keep in mind that the intent or original design of a test pipe is to see if the cat is causing a performance issue not to install on the vehicle for duration longer than the test period. With that You could say that you are still testing to see if you have a faulty cat. Good luck not getting a fine.

Re: Down Pipe and test pipe.
He said he isn't worried about inspections...
OP. Make sure you keep your OE equipment in case you ever need to put the car back to stock or get an inspection.
ALso, a downpipe and a test pipe more than likely will not give you enough added gain to warrant the purchase of a tune BUT I would honestly recommend doing that while you are at it anyway.. it will maximize the potential of your modifications and allo the engine to compensate efficiently for it.
Unless you're running ebay garbage, then just throw it on and don't give a shit.
