Default Domestic tranny help

I'm wondering whats the advantage of t45 over t5 or if any... also if the t45 has the bell housing mounting pattern..... ?

i see i can get t45 cheaper then a t5... i would like a t56 but do they have the same bolt pattern as t5 too?

You can get a tranny adapter for just about anything. Try Trans Parts, Inc for an adapter. I'm considering putting a T56 in my Cutlass in about a year or two. I could run some REALLY deep gears then, hehe... 4.88's

You should be able to remove the T5 adapter and put on a T56 adapter. The T5 is a Ford tranny and the T56 is a GM tranny. The bolt patterns aren't the same.

t45 is the new 5 speed for the 4.6 and t-5 was for the old 302's, 351's... so you want the t5, easier to find and one hell of an aftermarket, I beleive you can have a fully built non synchro straight cut gear tranny for about 1200 if you supply a core... or just a ge force gear set... for daily driving..

I think t-56's are pieces of shit personally... and its hard to find the 302 bell housing for them...
