Default dohc zc timing

Hey, something dropped down the timing belt cover, and it seemed like it made it skip a tooth, because it's really running rough, and it was running pretty good just before something was dropped down there. I am having some trouble aligning the cam gears, like they wont stay in place at all, anyone have a trick for these dual cams? Let me know guys, need this fixed asap. I did it on another dohc zc and it went on fine.

pull the valve cover and put screwdrivers in the little alignment holes that holds them dead on
