Ok im aware of hydro locking and in this case, thats not the problem.

So I was driving yesterday and went through a few deep ass puddles. After going through another one, my engine died. Everything else on the car worked fine (lights, etc.) I tried to start it and it just kept cranking but would not fire.

I took the intake off to check it, it was all dry, filter and all. I took off the distributor cap, it was also dry and rotor still attached.

Well I try to check for spark by holding the spark plug wire to a ground but when cranking it didnt arc. Also when I turn the key, I cant hear the fuel pump whirring.

at this point im pretty much stumped. I took out the main relay but all the solder joints appear to be fine.

start searching for a nice swap, did you get the car towed home or is it still sitting there?

main relay in the dash change it. You said no spark and you cant hear fuel pump.

Install footprint gas pedal.

Should be good to go.

In all seriousness Id actually like some help in getting this fixed. Things are kind of hard right now.

about the main relay, its out of the car already but the joints are solid. could it still be bad? and would a puddle cause it to break somehow?

same thing happend to me and my buddy in a 98 eclipse. went thru the puddle water shot up the intake and water got into the block then it threw a rod thru the block so i would check the block make sure its ok.

the dizzy may have died could be coincidence

get another dizzy and try that
