d16z6 build
hello all! im looking to get some info about building my d16z6 vtec mildly. i dont wanna boost it but i am going to rebuild it. also i was wondering what good 5 speed trans to put on it. right now everything is stock but im thinking about putting some d16y8 parts on the z6. will this help? any info to websites or past experiences will be greatly appreciated! thanks!

Boost it... Don't waste your money on "upgrading" to y8 parts unless you get em for free...
As far as trans goes, s20 from an SI...
Scat rods, vitara pistsons, hastings rings, clevite bearings, arp head studs, summit racing gasket kit, done.

I would love to boost it but I don't wanna have a factory motor with 200k on it. Plus I don't wanna just run 7 pounds in it. Lol. If imma boost it I want at least 12

Swap it with a dual cam, just an idea. By the time you build the bottom end, tune, head work, etc... it ends up cheaper to buy a swap. Better numbers in the end. Or be o.g as fuck and put in a motor from space shuttle. mad vtakkkk yo!!!
