d15 problems

Default d15 problems

early today my car wouldnt even start do to the fact that i had forgot to tighten the thermostat ground i tightend that up and it fired up but reved to about 3000 rpm and wouldnt go down, so i looked at the spark plug wires and they where mixed up i put em on right then started the car now it stil runs like shit but it idles up and down the rpms go crazy im not to sure what to look for now? any imput or help would be awesome

Any CEL code? What reference did u use to reinstall the spark plug cables? I hope not Haynes.... Also, look around the area where the thermostat ground wire is. There are a few things in that area that can cause an idle to do that. Check things like IACV connector, Map Sensor, vacuum lines, and TPS.

it throws a check engine light a few times after i crank it then if i turn the key back turn it forward it goes away,and went by some diagram some dude made on honda-tech he said 3412 goin from left to right starting at the top of the diss. not sure if its right but thats all i could find, but tomorrow i'll go and and check what you said and see what i can do, thanks

Did you install the thermostat the correct way?

Here is a picture of how the sparkplug wires should go on the distributor.

well i never took it out i changed the clutch a while ago and i guess i just missed the ground i didnt see it cause the harness runs right over top of it but thanks for the diagram
