crazy speedo and tach
ok well i have a 96 camaro the v6 3.8 and i was on the way to hooters when i noticed my tach and speedo where jumping. I kept driving and went home after with no problem though
The next day i left my house and got on the interstate as soon as i hit the interstate the tach and speedo both just went ape shit on me and would bounce from bottom to top and everywhere in between. Now the motor still runs normal as if there is nothing wrong untill the tach shoots way up and trips the rev limit (i'm guessing) and bogs the motor. It did shut off on me once while i was at a stop light. I ended up taking it to tidewater eletric auto and they are saying they can not re-create the problem if anyone has any help or Q's please lemme know Thanks

Sounds like a power or ground problem. You'll have just as hard of a time as the electric shop if you can't replicate the problem while troubleshooting.

ha thanks but i picked it up from the shop today cause they could not replicate it for long enough to test seems to happen much worse on hot day's if that helps anyone

same thing happened in my civic, idk if its the same for domestic tho. it was the in the distributor - the ignition control module, also known as the ignitor - they go bad in hondas periodically causing the speedo or the tach to go ape shit
