Default crank pulley fell off, now screaching

Hey guys, like it says, the crank pulley bolt came loose, was not tighteneed down enough. It came loose and fell off, I put it back on with the key and bolted it up back tight, and put the alternator belt back on and now it screaches like the belt does when it's dry. I have sprayed it but it just keeps doin it after it dries and sometimes spraying it doesn't do a thing. Let me know guys.

your alternator belt is to loose, there should be a bolt you loosen and push the alternator whatever way makes the belt tight then tighten the bolt back

did you check you alternator or power steering belts?? Sounds like they might either loose or too tight.

I'll check that today, so you don't think there is anything damaged from the pulley coming off? Let me know guys.

the pulley coming off would have damaged the internals of the motor before it damaged anything outside, unless that bitch flew off like a boomerang. the crank pulley has a dampener and a balancer in it which helps keep the moving bottom end parts moving smoothly and it absorbs vibration. the crank pulley coming off would have just let everything go crazy, but if it wasnt for too long you shouldnt have much to worry about. its most likely a loose belt making the noise, when the crank pulley came off it may have tweaked the tension on the drive belts which should just have to be retightened and more tension put on the belt and hopefully it goes away.

Ya I don't know where you guys get the facts of the timing being off, the car drives fine otherwise, just makes a screaching noise. It fell off at idle anyways. I'll let you guys know what happens today when i do some work.
