Is it a stock header? If it is aftermarket.... take it to me... I'll weld it cheap....

If it's the OEM EM, then you should be able to pick up a used one from a junkyard for < $20. Wouldn't any D-series EM work for this? (obviously avoiding the Y7 with it's integrated catalytic converter)

Go talk to your local Honda dealership. Or search it up online.

Honda does emission warranty on 96-00 Civics. If your car has less than 150,000 miles. Go up there and they will replace it for free.

They also do knock sensors, cap/rotors, oil change, filter, plugs n wires, header/cat.

They'll do it once. Ask them if they can run the vin to see if it's been done.

Hopefully this helps. My dealership did this to my cousins 97 civic and my friends 96 civic. (for free might I add)

Jarrod,

i think i have a similar problem. i have civic LX 99 and my check engine lamp came up. i went to go check and the dealer told me that i have a crack on catalytic converter and that my o2 sensor is broken. To fix that, they said it'd cost $845 total (catalytic converter ($585), O2 sensor ($150), labor ($110)). My car has 67,000 miles right now.

Would this be covered under "emission warranty" to replace all these, too? Or is it different thing? it's be so nice if i can get that for free. If not, you think that quote is pretty good price?
Thanks!

I called the dealer and they said that i wasn't qualified either...i was really close though!

It was either 8 years or 80K miles, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. My mileage qualifies but I've had my car for 8 yrs and 11 months! sad! So, I have to pay out of my pocket is what they said.

In general, this seems to be the warranty:
