Corrado Coilovers
I hope G60ING helps out with this one.
I'm on VW-vortex, and I am having a hard time trying to find some coilovers. It looks like there aren't many choices.
H&R
Bilstien
maybe a few others. can someone help out. I want to autocross and roadrace, so i want something a little stiff. can someone help me out with some info. does someone have a good list of coilovers?
thanks.
BTW this is for a 1992 SLC
I didn't know if this is supposed to be in tech talk.

well there are the K&W coilovers
andf the FK coilovers and then the H&R and the Bilstiens.
Personally I think that most Corrado owners go with the coilovers for the adjustable lowering and not for the dampening. I know that a set of H&R nonadjustable dampening Coilovers on an A2 make it ride like a brick and this will cause me not to buy coilovers unless they are adjustable dampening.
But I'm happy with the Bilstien sport shocks and struts with the H&R sport springs on my Corrado. But I bought them back in the day when coilovers were all priced above $1000 now a days entry level coilovers are only $200-300 more then a set of standard performance shockls and struts.

Re: Corrado Coilovers
true, I want a set for damping control. ride height is second. I already have a set of H&R race springs, I was contemplating just buying a set of Koni yellows, and then buying a new set of springs. (just cuz i got my h&r's used in 1999so who knows how old they are) I don't mind paying the 1200 or so price tag, jsut don't want to buy BS stuff. thanks Frank.

You can get AVO Coilovers for the corrado SLC/G60 for ~500 and they have adjustable dampening as well as height, i had them in a VW Jetta (A2 Chassis) and they rode great not to mention they were relatively cheap at the time (800 used 1200 new)

Re: Corrado Coilovers
I am not sure where or who would carry them in your area but I actually bought mine from a friend that had an A2 Golf and was selling it so I traded him a set of stockers with bilstein shocks for his avo's plus 800... I am sure you could order them from overseas but I dunno what the shipping would cost. There has to be a distributor here in the US tho, hell they probably advertise in VW Tuning or some such mag just pick one up and look for AVO then call the place and see if they can get them...
