Clutch replacement, is this the truth?
I have a 97 civic. Lately when i press the gas sometimes the engine will rev pretty high up to 5k car will only increase speed a little. I have noticed its more prone to happen while in 4th gear. But starting out it happens as well.
I was told i need a new clutch and that i should get a clutch kit. I suppose the car is old and a clutch is probably due. Wanted to check out the VA and confirm

Re: Clutch replacement, is this the truth?
Most shops charge $350-$400 for labor on a clutch job. It's a pretty fair price because it's a lengthly process esp. when parts that haven't been taken apart for 10+ years are involved. Also they will warranty their work and resurface your flywheel for you. Be careful if you let one of these retards on this site do it for you. Make sure your clutch kit comes with a new Throw Out bearing and Pilot bearing as well.

Op,
Is usually charge 300 to replace a clutch. Being that you are in falls church you might be looking at double that at a shop. The only way to know for sure is to call around.
