civic remote start install
I have a 96 civic 5 speed and im tryin to figure out the wiring of the remote start. I know for a 5 SPD you have to bypass the clutch in order for it to work, however, i have no clue how to wire it up. can anyone steer me in the right direction?? thanks!

Re: civic remote start install
At the very top of the clutch pedal assembly there is a two wire plug(i think its yellow)... you can cut these two wires and connect them.. or you can put them on an on-off switch that is easily accessable.
When you push the clutch pedal down all its doing to this switch is pushing in a rod. The rod de-activates the safety measure that makes you push in the clutch to start the car.. very simple |
Re: civic remote start install
To bypass the clutch switch you will see 2 plugs on your clutch pedal. U have to tie the 2 wires on the plug that is higher up on the pedal. It's no picnic to reach and tie together. Pm me if you have problems or u want mw to put it in.
