civic mtr question please help
I got a 95 civic ex with a 1.6 vtec (d16z6) the head bolt holes n the block was stripped out so i took the block and had it drilled for 1/2 inch head bolts but im blowing head gaskets like crazy. The head has been decked .020 should i use shorter head bolts so it pulls the head tighter to the block?

0.020" off the head won't cause problems with bolt length. Nothing should be close enough in length or depth to make it sensitive like that, unless there is some problem with the new head bolts or how the new holes were drilled and tapped. Actually, any problem related to the new bolts or new holes would likely be a problem whether the head was decked or not. Unless of course the head was decked improperly (not flat, etc), among other things.
Have you changed your torque spec because of the larger bolts?
