Check engine light

Ok, I have a 97 EX Civic, D16y8 and a P2P ECU. Today I installed a Apexi VAFC, programmed everything according to the manual. I didn't mess with fuel curve or anything drastic. Tonight I'm driving and go from 1st to 2nd gear fine at around 6k rpm in 2nd the car feels like I hit the rev limiter which is past 7k rpms. As soon as that happened my check engine light came on. Any ideas what I may have done? or didn't do for that matter. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

go over your wiring and make sure you wired it properly...

Ok took car to advanced, got them to see what check engine light meant. She said it was a mapping sensor issue. Possibly a bad mapping sensor. I went home, and rewired the VAFC, cranked it up and tada no more check engine light. Prob had a bad connection or something. Thank you all for responding. I'm new to the whole honda thing, just bought this one in January so I don't know much about it but I'm learning. Thanks again

BRACE YOURSELF FOR THIS RADICAL IDEA!!!

then it's probably a real code and your O2 is bad. *gasp* Enjoy.
