I've heard of this before...
IIRC, it has something to do with something causing the ECU to go into "limp mode". I'm sure someone more informed will chime in soon.

was this originally a dual point car ?if it was double check the wiring at the ecu ,i have had them not have a good connection where the pins are changed at the ecu plug during a mpfi swap

yea it is called limp mode my friends old da use to do that when he wouldnt run the car for a little period of time.. did you try turning the car on and off...? thats what disengaged his limp mode on his b16..
