Car suddenly idles high then runs hot?
 

Im not exactly sure wuts going on with my car. Today i drove around for about 20 min. The idle was perfect and temp. was perfect. Then at a stop light i noticed my idle started to go up and fluctuate between 1000-1200 rpm's the my temp started to rise about 3/4 the way from hot. So i turned the car off for about 2 min. (enough for my light to change from red to green) Then i started it up and it ran fine idle was great and temp. was normal. This has happened 2 times now. I was thinking maybe i have a bad sensor, or maybe my thermostate is going bad??? Any help?

Probably the temp sensor, or air in the coolant making to gauge/computer go crazy

I agree, sounds like air around where the temp sensor is.. The temp sensor can do some funny things to your idle and power output..

When you were at the stop light and your idle went up did it just go up and stay or go up and down flucuating?
