Default Car shaking, white smoke from tailpipe.

I've got a 92 DX hatch. Just about a month or so ago, I replaced the headgasket, due to a broken seal. The headgasket was replaced and everything seemed fine. I changed the oil just two days ago, though, and it's back to shaking all about, even letting out white puffs of smoke from the tailpipe. A few times the engine wouldn't even turn on, which has never happened before. I was absolutely sure to use the correct oil, and have no idea what's going on.

I haven't been driving it since the headgasket change besides turning it on and letting it idle every week or so. There's no way the head blew again. Any help?

Did the car run hot and if so how long did you run it hot? You could have warped the head or the block. That means just replacing he head gasket will not fix the problem.

I didn't overheat it, bought it knowing some work had to be done. I don't believe the head is warped though. The new oil has yet to take on that nasty peanutbutter brown color or the texture, but then again, I could be wrong.

I'm also near positive the guys who helped do the gasket work would have noticed that. They've been doing work for years.

If you mean me just idling it, I never let it run hot. I'm very careful with it.

Update: Tested it today, and the car didn't refuse to start. It actually started quicker than usual. No sig of oil in the antifreeze overflow, and where antifreeze would leak before the head change is not there, so the heads seem fine, though the smoke from the tailpipe seems more prevalant. It ran better though, so I'm going to keep trying to run the new oil through the system to see what happens.

I am curious if over-filling the oil could be a possible cause?

and a rule of thumb....whenever you have a car with a blown head gasket you should always have the head checked for cracks and warpage..

it happens easily with aluminum heads...

Got a gallon of oil. My Mechanic buddy put in the whole thing though I believe the shop we got the oil from said i takes 3.5 quards in a 1.5 L Honda Civic Dx. I believe a gallon is 4 quarts, an the dipstick (Which id a motherfucker to read) I think is over the line (Er, tiny circle which I believe is the level meter.) Thre's no lines or anything, just two small circles.

I dunno. Since I can't read the dipstick, I'll try and get a pic of it and mark out the oil level for yall. I do believe it's overfilled though,, but I could be wrong.

Thats what it sounds like. I would drain the oil & this time make sure you only put 4qts in it...

I do 1 qt of lucas oil stabilizer & then 3qts of castrol gtx (but use whatever brand you like)
