I was told that if you get offset rims that they will mess up your cv axles? Is this true? Because I want to buy some rims but i dont know what to buy. Because the stock rims on my car dont come out to fender so i looks kinda rediculous. I want some that are either lined up or stick out just a tad from the fenders. Can someone help me please?

A positive offset is on the wheels is how far out from the centerline of the wheel the face is placed. A negative offset on the wheels is how far in from the centerline of the wheel the face is placed. So, so you've got a 17x7 +35 wheel. The face is placed 35mm towards the outside of the wheel. A -5 offset will be 5mm towards the inside. Basically, the bigger the lip, the lower the offset. But, you've got to be careful with offsets because if you go too high or too low, you'll get tire rub, etc, since the wheel isn't sitting in the opening properly.

That being said you should get negative offset..postive offset is for the weak hearted

A mechanic for Pontiac

They were 100 spoke rims that stuck out far as hell. He said that they should be taken off cause they would ruin your CV axles after a year or so.
