Default CAI question

i have a 96 civic hatch dx. i bought a CAI from autosolution on friday. when i went to install it on saturday, i saw no way that it would fit. either that, or im a fucking retard, which very well may be the case. so right now, i only have the top pipe connected so im rolling with a short ram. i know its the right one because crs checked the box before he sold it to me. any advice on how to install it, or extra stuff i need to remove in order to get it to fit? thanks in advance.

ok i talked to him and he said everything works fine, but that the bottom pipe that attaches to the top pipe is too long, thereby extending the filter to the point that it is even lower than the bumper cover...my only suggestion would be to cut it, but at the same time, he shouldn't have to cut something made for his car....

Just take off he splash guard and leave th filter as it is, and when it rains just take off the bottom pipe and connect the filter to the top pipe...that was my solution to a similar problem

no.

and whoever said to make the hole bigger, id LOVE to, but there is kind of a motor and a radiator fan in my way.

its not the same like it would be on a 92-95...there is no hole that feeds the rest of the stock airbox down through the engine bay. only hole i have is right behind the radiator, somewhere between the distributor and the radiator resevoir.
