Is it electronic or do you have to slide a lever to go from hot to cold?

Do you feel any resistance when you slide it? The damper may be hung up or the cable may have come off to switch it from hot to cold. So your car could be blowing cold air but at the same time blowing hot air also. If that makes any sense. ??
