i want to take pff my a/c and keep my heater will that work ? i heard some people says that i must have a/c for my defrost windows and my car is a 1990 dx with a/c

ac won't affect your heater. take it off.

the concept behind needin a/c to work defrost is that cool air takes away humidity, and its faster to cool glass than it is to heat it... i dont know why. i just know that my dad also does the a/c to defrost the windows in his z28, it works alot better.... but you dont need it for defrost, i have a 90 civic with no a/c and my defrost worked fine before my fan switch went out. or the people might use the term the correct way, as it was started, and not in todays terms. air conditioning or a/c means to condition the air to a comfortable temperature, and that means to heat it or to cool it.. over the years air conditioning became referred to cooling alone... but no, like evo said, get rid of it, get back some power.
