Boost or N/a?

Boost or N/a?
Alright, this has been a long and discussed topic I'm sure of it. But I still cannot come down to any good reasoning or choices. I need some opinions. I would like to achieve a 12 second street car. I don't want to spend so much money, say over 6 grand. I want to build a budget motor, while reaching the 12's. I can't figure out what I should do to reach that goal. Boost a D-series? Boost a b-series? Build an LS/VTEC setup? There's so many choices but I need some help! I need some input and we'll discuss it from there...

Listen.
Make a setup that has potential to grow later on. You don't want a setup that you build, then gotta tear back apart to go a little faster.
Thats all I'm saying on the subject.

Re: Boost or N/a?
vitaras (std bore, 75mm) ($140)
tuner toys h-beams (~$275)
arp head studs ($90)
780cc injectors ($300)
t3/to4e 57 trim stg1 @ 25 psi ($1500)
obx lsd installed in a si/ex trans ($600)
3 inch dp and exhaust ($350)
and a very good tune ( maybe $300)
should cost you about $3800 (this is how much i spent, roughly) and will get you in the 12's. spent less then $2g's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qm_jNcb1kNA
^ the builder is (iirc) fast2cam on HT. and consists of the above, with an engine combo of Z6 bottom and Y8 head.

Re: Boost or N/a?
Definitely +1 on the turbo setup listed. I'd go with the 50trim, as it promotes a wider power band than the 60trim.
Also, if you are only focusing on ET's, you could use a small shot of nitrous out of the hole to improve 60' times.
