body work guys... need some advice
so ive been trying for a couple months to find someone to weld the holes up from my teg molding that i ripped off. unfortunatly i havent found anyone so im on the verge of having to jerry rig the job....
my plan is getting some sheet metal and some gorilla (or stronger) glue and glueing the sheet metal behind the holes, then filling them with body filler. i know its crazy, but is it unrealistic to think i can get a good seal this way? any alternative methods would be much appreciated. i know its crazy so there's really no need to flame a desperate man.. :( thanks in advance:D |
Re: body work guys... need some advice
you havent messaged me yet i dont think. we can weld those holes up real quick if your trying to shave them.
but if your not willing to come up to the shop, your idea really isnt that bad. after you get the holes covered up from the back, use a stranded fiberglass to fill the front to get the best hold, itll prolly crack over time though. but will be strong for a while, we like to weld the back, and weld the front, grind, then wipe with metal glaze smooth if there isnt any large groove. slick when its done. |
Re: body work guys... need some advice
yeah i totally forgot, mainly because the car isnt inspected and i hadnt really considered driving it. i may just do that though. can you give me a round about price on what it might cost to weld about 20 holes or so?

sweeettt, dont want hot shit getting anywhere on the interior cause that shit will catch fire in a second. our weld blankets can cover alot of it, but that shit can get everywhere so better safe than sorry.

Re: body work guys... need some advice
150 is a decent price to weld all them holes up we did a integra at the shop I work at. cutting all them little plates and welding the holes took a bit of time especially being you dont want to warp the panels up from the heat. you should take him up on that deal
