Bitch won't start...lol
hey it's actually a question for my friend, he's got a 91 hatchback, this fuckin thing has one problem right after another. the most recent thing is the friggin cd player shorted out or some shit. the wires melted and i wasn't there but i guess there was some smoke, point is now we can't ever get the damn thing started.
already checked all fuses and some other shit. battery is brand new so is plugs. it acts almost like the battery is dead. could it be the starter is gone bad?

jump your car...let it run for about 5 min, then turn it off. Wait about 5 min and see if you can start it on its own power. If you cant, then the alternator is bad.
Dont rule out the battery though, me and sung just took off his alternator today and put a new one on, but it turns out the new battery was bad along with the alternator, so you might think about getting the battery tested before doing anything else.

JUMP THE CAR.. GET IT STARTED AND THEN PULL THE POSITIVE TERMINAL OFF THE BATTERY. IF THE CAR STARTS TO SPUDDER THEN THE ALTERNATOR ISNT HOLDING A CHARGE....I.E. REPLACE IT...

Check all your major grounds and clean the positive and negative wire terminals. Make sure they are good and tight on the battery. A loose connection there can kill a new battery easily.

Well if it won't start because you fried those wires, then obviously your problem is in your wiring. Any number of wires in that circuit could go to the ignition tumbler, back track them, you may not have a signal from the tumbler to the starter solenoid, or other essential components.
