Default Best heat shield brand/type?

Looking to make a heat shield around my ABS module due to it being right above the headers. Can anyone recommend me your fav/ brand/type of heat insulation for under hood use? I has to be somewhat rigid but bendable at the same time. Thanks!

Use sheet steel or sheet aluminum, cut and fold to suit, and then cover it with some heat insulation. Then you can use the mechanical/forming properties of the metal and the thermal properties of a good insulating material, so you get the best of both worlds.

DEI (not the alarm company) makes some good foil-faced insulating mats that work well, and there are other brands to choose from too. Something backed with with silicone adhesive would be very convenient probably..

For example:

And they have a 12"x12" part number, so it can be bought (somewhere) in small quantities.

Thanks. Know anywhere to get this stuff locally?

Here's a pic of (roughly) what I'm trying to do:

Looks like this stuff:

http://www.designengineering.com/pro...sp?m=sp&pid=27

If that stuff doesn't work, move the ABS module because it's a lost cause where it currently is..

I would go the extra mile and make a metal cover though, cover it with insulating material (probably the cheaper stuff). It'll take longer than just cutting the transmission tunnel material with tinsnips like the one in the picture, but a metal cover will be more geometric and err... aesthetically pleasing. Basically I think a metal cover will look like it belongs there because of it's shape.

Sounds easier than it would be

Actually, I take that back. The stuff in the picture you posted looks like embossed aluminum sheet, not insulating mat. You can get embossed sheet like that from metal supply places..
Like this almost:

I take it that it's a stock heat shield in the picture based on the embossed plate area right by the bolt?
