best d series tranny
 

what in everyone's opinion is the best d series tranny

crx si tranny.

cable or hydro? from what ive always been told the y8 is the best/strongest hydro d series, while a zc tranny with an si final drive is the best way to go as far as cable trannys go.

hydro, its for a 95 civic with d16z6. would a full d16z6 swap be better or a d15b and si tranny be better. the car has a d16a6 but i have never tried to start it. how can i tell what tranny it is.

1,2,3,4- ZC gears,
5, si or hf (depending on how much distance driving you do)
si final drive



That is the best set up possible for a d series tranny. To have a shop do it will cost booku bucks. Or you can try and do it yourself. I will be trying this hopefully this summer.

s20.... shortest factory D series gearing.

i heard the s20 was shitty though and breaks easily

240,000 miles on mine and still no grinds.

i just read that if you put any power to it, it will break easily
