hey guys,

ive got a ls vtec in a ek hatch
just installed my turbo kit after piecing it together for like 10 months

motor ran fine, strong, cool and never leaked coolant before.

now, when i start the car water poors from the backside of the block, LOOKS like its coming from the end of the waterpipe closest to the timing belt. does this sound like a bad water pump?

or maybe i damaged the water pipe when installing the oil feed (sandwich plate is kind of close to pipe)

any ideas would be appreciated

Sounds like the rubber O-ring that goes on the water pump side of that pipe is old and deteriorated. Also check the weep hole of the pump, good time to replace it if you don't know the age of it.

this^^ and i think you can alos get a cooling system pressure tester to pin-point where the leak is

Or the rubber ring is pinched and causing coolant to leak out.
